Lucky

I love Nada Surf so much. I almost forget about them a lot of the time, and then I remember and I remember hard. I don't know if it's indie rock, technically, or something else. But they make powerful, contemplative, gorgeous music that speaks to something absolutely elemental inside me. Why is Nada Surf never on the radio?

Last night (after a big bad delay) I finally bought their latest CD "Lucky". The image on the cover is exactly where I always want to be...

...and the music on the CD makes me feel like I'm there. I like these songs a whole lot, especially "Beautiful Beat" (good call RP), but I know I'll grow to love them a lot as I listen further.

"The Weight is a Gift" and "Let Go" are amazing.

Starter tracks for you to download:
"Do it Again" - The Weight is a Gift
"Paper Boats" - Let Go
"Blonde on Blonde" - Let Go

RP OVERLOAD!!

i think they're not on the radio because once people hear that it's the same band that put out "popular" they won't like it as much. it's sad and gross but i honestly think that one song still has such a stigma about it.

it was a toss up between that and "weightless", but for disc 1, b.b. nailed it because w. has that vortex-ness at the end.

anyway, i could analyze everything on there i'm such a dork.

random nada surf moment #43: i started singing "here goes something" out of nowhere walking my dog on saturday. it was weird.

You definitely chose the correct song, nice one!

Why did "popular" ruin everything? I hate it. I bet Ferg loves it when you sing to him.

ah, he was too busy taking in the smells of Dorchester to care. but i'll sing to him anyway, bless his little palpitating heart.

if ferg were a teenager, he'd be a quarterback and popular.
