Shh

Last night I was so exhausted that I started to fall asleep shortly after 7pm. I had to force my eyes to stay open until about 8:45 at which time I fell into a coma-like sleep. There were no drugs involved in this, I'm just tired. I mean, I'm so tired. Still. I came in to work very early this morning to chip away at the mountain of work that has been building up around me and that felt great. I was bursting with energy from 7am-11 or so and then...crash city.

Maybe forcing myself to go to the gym more often will improve my energy levels. Maybe once things get cleared up in work I won't feel the need to curl up into a nap-ball so often, who knows.

Does anyone have any tips on how to not be completely exhausted all the time?

I don't care what you think, I miss the Olympics,

i'm right there with you on the olympics issue.

my only experience not being a bag of sleep all the time only happened when i started not eating like a garbage can. lately i've been crashing again, but when i ate right, got up early for a bout of exercise and macked on some yogurt and flax for breakfast, i could last all day and then some. also maybe a mid afternoon luna bar or something would help. i try to kill a zone bar when i think of it.

NUTRITION TRIP!

Nutrition trip!

That sounds so healthy. I've been eating pretty well, but I bet morning exercize would be key. It's just so hard to wake up. A vicious cycle, if you will.
I'm going to try that.

I've found that any exercise is key. Morning, noon, evening - any time that's not within a couple of hours of when you plan to sleep.

Other things that help: Waking up at the same time on weekends as you do throughout the week. Consistency in general - bedtime routines, morning routines, etc. Avoiding caffeine after noon and drinking more water throughout the day (dehydration feels sleepy!). Getting as much sun exposure as possible in the first half of the day (11am walk to Starbucks). For me though, exercise has the biggest impact of all of the above.

Other things they say will help, but I don't do: Avoiding TV and computer screens within a few hours of bedtime (good luck with that), going out drinking a lot less.

Other things I am actually going to try: taking a melatonin supplement, sleeping on a better mattress. Bob-o-pedic en route!

In regards to the gym: I've told you before.. I have my Juicy velour track suit, my hoop earrings, press on nails and have reviewed my tanning and summer tips by dolores degregorio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hkl4Ul8OTNo).
